This is the time, most of the professionals around the world is working from home (WFH) for a good cause. We techies already know WFH demands responsibility and discipline. Some of us may be dealing with a lot of critical data from our company and client. So, we must be very cautious. Here are some of the top mistakes we must avoid while working from home:
Don’t lose your focus
When we are alone as a remote worker, we try to do multi-task. When we think we’re not being watched we often lose focus as we take on more and more personal tasks simultaneously with professional ones. Don’t try to do reports watching the news. We must give complete focus on the task we are doing.
Don’t save official files on personal email and other online drives
Data leakage is one of the major issues we need to tackle. Usage of personal emails and drives may cause accidental data leakage. Be very cautious! This may lead to serious issues.
Don’t use an insecure internet connection
Cyberthreats are increasing as hackers are targeting WFH employees. To tackle this, use highly secure internet connection with strong firewall protection. Also, use highly reliable anti-virus software. Using VPN connect from company servers will be a good option.
Don’t keep your laptop or computer unlocked
If we keep our official laptop unattended or unlocked for a long time, misusage from our kids or relatives may happen. There is a chance of sending unwanted emails or they can completely spoil your program code. Also do not share your official system with anyone for any reason.
Don’t use the official system for personal internet browsing
This may lead to some embarrassing situations as most of the organisations keep an eye on the information in an official system. So it’s important to use private browsing mode for personal things on the internet.
