A video by Japanese public broadcaster NHK, gone viral, which highlights how fast coronavirus spreads from a single person. This video was based on an experiment done in a restaurant. In 10 people entering the restaurant, one was infected. He applied an invisible fluorescent substance in his hand, which is visible only under blacklight. The buffet was in place and people started serving themselves.
This experiment ended after they enjoyed their meal for around 30 minutes. At this point, all the participants were under backlight, which revealed how far and wide the fluorescent substance representing coronavirus had travelled.
John Nicholls, a clinical professor in pathology, said the video demonstrated how quickly an epidemic can spread, especially when hand washing isn’t performed well.
The experiment did just describe the possibility of the spread by contact, and that is not proof of what happened nowadays in restaurants.
This was conducted by the public broadcasting organization NHK in association with health experts.
